Helmut and Linbergh

These two fashion photographers never seize to surprise me. Their work is fresh, and has a way to cut the emotions from the models faces, and strip the picture down to something real. Sometimes I forget they are "fashion" photographs, having a need to portray the clothes, and the way the particular model is wearing them. The certain images that they can capture and freeze, in fashion's high-paced buzz, always catches me off guard - and I can be stuck staring at one of their photographs for days, always finding some need to come back to it...

first photograph shown above is Newton, then next is Lindbergh, the three in the middle are Newton again, and the last two are Lindbergh as well

What Gets Me Through

Valerie Vs. Chicago at Hot Biscuits

Parisian Edges

No explanation really. I went to Paris the summer before college, and I these on my computer. I love the sharp edges I find in each image.

Boston Fashion Week (Spring 09)

I know these are old - but I just found them, and love my even rustier start on photography. This was one of the more "major" runways shows that I have done. It was apart of Boston Fashion Week (I actually left college for a couple days to go back to Boston for this shoot).

It was very fun and the clothes were great - here are several candid pictures from backstage....

Fells/Vera's House

Here are a couple of my "rusty" pics you could say. I went to do the habitual thing to do on a summer day - go for a walk with Vera in the fells, and sit by the water. I had my camera, and could not stop from looking at everything as a potential work. Then I found this distracting, and stopped trying to look for "cool lighting", "ironic placements", and "non-cliche" ways to portray the woods - I took all of this out of my mind and just focused on what I liked, not what I knew might take a good picture. SO! maybe in fact all of these picture are SHIT - but it was my first test run with the camera, and I am starting to see a theme in my work.....but i do not know what it is exactly - if YOU SEE IT, LET ME KNOW!
